The “St. Athanasios” Patriarchal Academy of Alexandria was re-established by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa in the ancient Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savva the Sanctified in Alexandria during the academic year 2007-2008, after 470 years, to promote the indigenous staff of the missionary effort of the Patriarchal Throne.

During the two-year cycle of studies, students from many African countries who are on full scholarships from the Patriarchate, attend lessons in Theology, nursing, tropical agronomy, information technology, education and well as Greek language.
