On 14th August 2016, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, conducted Great Vespers at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, prior to the end of which he performed the Service of the Salutations and the Procession of the Epitaphios of the Mother of God in the grounds of the Monastery, in the presence of the Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Mr. Emm. Kakavelakis.

On the following day, 15th August, His Beatitude officiated during Orthros, conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the Homily at the celebrating Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of the Arabic-Speaking Community of Alexandria, concelebrating with His Grace Meletios Bishop of Naucratis. Present at the Eucharistic Synaxis were the Hon. Consuls General of Greece Mr. Emm. Kakavelakis, of Lebanon Mr. Issama Khashab, representatives of Arabic-speaking and Greek Societies, Scouts from Alexandria and Cairo, and after the Patriarchal Liturgy and the Procession around the Church, the Chairman of the Arabic-speaking Community, Mr. Fouad Farah, hosted a festal reception in the Spiritual Centre of the Church.
