On 26th September 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, together with His Beatitude Patriarch Irenaios of Serbia, went to the south-western region of Kosovo, to the city of Peć, to visit the historic See of the Patriarchate of Serbia, which was established there nat the beginning of the 12th century. Note that in this region there are more than 1300 medieval Orthodox Churches and Monasteries.

At the historic Monastery, where the enthronement of each Patriarch of Serbia takes place, His Beatitude Theodoros II, visibly moved because of the historic moment of his visit, thanked Patriarch Irenaios for the great blessing and opportunity which he gave him by bringing him to the area. He was then given a guided tour of the Patriarchate in Peć.

On the same day, the two Primates completed pilgrimages to the Holy Monasteries of Žiča and Visoki Dečani, where they were warmly welcomed by the Brotherhoods of the Monasteries and crowds of faithful Christians who came to receive the blessings of the two Patriarchs.

After the official Doxologies at the Holy Monasteries, His Beatitude was given a guided tour of both.
