His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated at Orthros and served the Divine Liturgy on Friday 21st May 2021, at the Celebrations of the Community Church of the Holy glorious, great, God-crowned and Equal to the Apostles Ss Constantine and Helen, of the late Benefactor Nestor Tsanaklis.

Concelebrating with His Beatitude the Patriarch were their Eminences Metropolitans Nicodemus of Memphis and Nicholas of Hermopolis.

Present also were the Ambassador of Greece to Cairo His Excellency Mr, Nicholas Garilidis, the Ambassador of Cyprus Mr. Homer Mavromatis, the Consul of Greece Mr. Achilleas Bikis, the Chairman of the Hellenic Community of Cairo Mr. Christos Kavalis, the Vice Chairman Mr. Michael Grunstein, the Secretary General Mrs. Chrysanthe Skoufaridou, the Community Commissioner Mr. Andreas Roussos, the Chairlady of the Hellenic Community of Port Said Mrs. Soula Theocharous, the Chairman of the Arabic Speakers Mr. Claude Nakas and representatives of Hellenic Societies of the City.

In his homily, the Patriarch spoke of the Saints and Equal to the Apostles Constantine and Helen, stressing that this year in 2021, tin the midst of the coronavirus pandemic, the Cross they were holding in their hands sends a timeless message, “By this we conquer”.

"Our victory will not be with chariots, it will not be with weapons, but it will be with the strength of the heart and the tears of the eyes", added His Beatitude.

The Alexandrian Primate sang the Trisagion for the benefactor of the Church, the late Nestor Tsanaklis, in the Chapel of St Nestor, which is on the right hand nave of the Church.

Patriarch Theodoros thanked in particular the Ambassador of Greece His Excellency Mr. Nikolaos Garilidis who listens to the heartbeat of the Greeks in Egypt.

He repeated his gratitude to the Egyptian President Abdel Fatah Al Sisi for his humanistic contribution to the suffering Palestinians. However, he especially thanked the Great Benefactor of HCC Mrs. Ekaterini Belefanti – Sofianou, for the new great donation she made to the Church in order to cover its Liturgical needs.

Patriarch Theodoros, while blessing the congregation and the Scouts who were present at the Festivities, stressed: “Our schools, our churches will they will preach for ever and ever, that whoever loves his history will live because history teaches that we walk in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ. "

After the end of the Divine Liturgy the Holy Icon of Ss Constantine and Helen was taken in procession around the Church, after which refreshments were served in the Scout Hall.
