Continuing his many days of missionary journey to the Holy Metropolis of Kampala and All Uganda, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, visited the Lake Victoria area and the Parishes and Schools around there, on 7th November 2015.

During his visit to the Parish of St Basil in KIKWANYA, among other things he said, His Beatitude made special mention of the name of His Eminence Prokopios, Metropolitan of Phillipon, who did whatever possible to assist in the building of this Holy Church and who has visited this area many times with missionary groups from his Metropolis.

The Patriarch then went to the BUTEMBE are where the Primary School dedicated to the name of the late Fr. Obadiah, first Priest in Uganda and Grandfather of the present Metropolitan Jonas of Kampala, is situated.

Also, on the same day, he visited the Parish of the Nativity of the Theotokos in BUGOLO, where there used to be a church-straw hut, which is now an erected beautiful Church.

Next on the agenda of his laborious journey to Lake Victoria and specifically to the BUSANA district, His Beatitude conducted the Sanctification of Water at the Holy Monastery of St Paraskeve, and during his homily before the laying of the foundation stone, warmly thanked the Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of the same name in Mazio, Megara, Archimandrite Chrysostomos, who supports the efforts of building of the Holy Monastery and has hosted its first monk, Fr. Prodoromos, for many years, when he was studying in Greece.

Lastly, His Beatitude held a synaxis of all the clergy of the Holy Metropolis of Kampala at the Metropolitan Church of St Nicholas, gave them the necessary guiding advice and thanked them for their sacrificial ministry in the Lord’s Vineyard.
