     On Friday 6th April 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, received in the Patriarchal See His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign affairs of Greece Mr Dimitris Dollis, accompanied by the Honorable Mr Christos Kapodistrias, Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Mr George Arnaoutis, Director of his Diplomatic Office and Mr Thomas Matsoukas, the Deputy Director thereof.

     During the meeting His Beatitude informed the Deputy Minister about the general missionary and humanistic efforts of the Alexandrian Church, spoke about the recent meeting of the Orthodox Primates of the Middle East in Cyprus and of the terrible situation in the area, especially in Syria and expressed wholehearted thanks for the continual support which Greece gives to the ancient Patriarchate.

     The Deputy Minister praised the International presence and the activities of the Patriarchal Throne of Alexandria which is led by His Beatitude Theodoros, expressed the undivided support from Greece for the Patriarchate and emphasized the significant role of the Orthodox Church in the efforts of bringing peace to the Middle East.

     His Beatitude then awarded Mr Dollis the Great Cross of the Apostle and Evangelist Mark and then took him and his entourage on a conducted tour of the Patriarchal Mansion. He then hosted an official lunch at the Patriarchal Refectory in honour of his guest.
