        On 4th November 2007, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, received in the Holy Cathedral of the Theotokos in Alexandria and in the Patriarchal Palace, the Ladies’ Group from Kyreneia in .

 

         “I congratulate you for your ceaseless efforts for Cyprus, for the patience you show for your suffering, your pain, and your tears”, said the Venerable Primate of the , addressing the members of the group. “May God grant justice and peace to the heroic and suffering island and especially to its occupied portions…I thank you for your support of the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria” said His Beatitude, while donating a Cross as a memento of their visit.

 

          During her reply, the Chairlady, Mrs Eleni Koliou, thanked His Beatitude for the warm welcome and receiving the Cross she said: “This is a Cross of Witness for all the Cypriots, which reminds us of the power which we must have for the continuation of the national struggle, for justice for the Cypriot people…but also to continue to be supporters of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Africa”.
