On the Sunday of Pascha, 2nd May 2021, the festive Vespers of the Resurrection was served at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.

His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa descended in procession from the Throne Room of the Monastery, to the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas, where he presided over the Vespers of Love, concelebrating with the Hierarchs of the Throne, His Eminence Narcissus Metropolitan of Naucratis, His Grace Theodoros Bishop of Babylon and His Grace Germanos Bishop of Tamiathus.

Also present were the 1st Vice Chairman of the nHellenic Community of Alexandria Mr. Andreas Vafiades and representatives of Hellenic associations in the City.

In a joyful atmosphere, the Holy Gospel was read by the His Beatitude the Patriarch in Greek, followed by the Hierarchs, the Clergy and the Laity, in various languages. Having thanked everyone for their presence, said: “Let us emulate St Seraphim of Sarov and throughout our lives let us say, day and night, Christ is Risen, My Joy!. This will be my prayer for this Pascha. May the joy of the Resurrection be hope and courage. Do you have Christ within you? You have the Resurrection! Do you have Christ? You have light! You have patience. Do you have Christ? You have love!

In conclusion His Beatitude particularly wished all the people of the Middle East, Christ is Risen and to have peace between them, many years to all of Africa and to Egypt.
