     On 9th September 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa welcomed to the Patriarchal See the new Ambassador of Cyprus in Egypt, accompanied by the Charge d’ Affaires of the Embassy, the Honourable Consul General of Cyprus in Cairo and the Chairman of the Cypriot Brotherhood Mr Haralambos Haralambides.

     His Beatitude expressed the joy which the presence in the land of the Nile of a worthy diplomat brings, and expressed also his support for the Cypriot people, as well as gratitude to His Beatitude Chrysostomos, Archbishop of Cyprus, and to His Excellency the President of Cyprus, Mr Dimitris Christofias for their support of the workof the ancient Patriarchate.

     During the visit the Ambassador was taken on a conducted tour of the Patriarchal Mansion, the Reception Hall of the late Patriarch Petros VII and the Patriarchal Library.
