     Cairo honoured the memory of St Nicholas at the beautiful Patriarchal Church of the same name at the Patriarchal Vicariate in the Egyptian capital on 5th and 6th December, officiated by His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa.

     His Beatitude was assisted at the liturgical functions by His Grace Nikodimos Bishop of Nitria and Patriarchal Vicar in Cairo,  and His Grace Niphon Hegumen of the Holy Monastery of St George in Old Cairo, as well as His Eminence Nicholas Metropolitan of Ermopolis.

     During the Vespers Service His Beatitude honoured the Hellenic Scouts on the completion of 100 years of scouting, in the person of the District Commissioner of Scouts in Cairo, Mr Alexandros Kazamias, as well as the Arabic Orthodox Scouts in the person of their leader Dr Nadim Eskandar.

     Present were the Honourable Consul General of Greece in Cairo Mr Ioannis Hatzantonakis, the Vice Chairman of the Hellenic Community Mr Kimis Flevotomas, representatives of the Arabic Orthodox Community, societies, associations as well as many lay people.
