On 27th February 2018, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa participated as a speaker in the deliberations of the international conference on : «Promoting peaceful coexistence and common citizenship», taking place in Vienna, organized by the Interfaith Institution «ΚAICIID Dialogue Center» concerning dialogue for peace.

His Beatitude the Patriarch in his speech spoke briefly about the multifaceted work of the Patriarchate in Africa.

‘Religions and religious leaders have a great responsibility, but also an obligation, to promote peaceful coexistence and mutual understanding of the peoples,’ said His Beatitude among other things.

At another point, he said that “Our meeting today has this purpose, but in order to achieve its goals, we will need to extract messages, that will become a common reference point for all believers and all people”.

Note that the «ΚAICIID Dialogue Center», was recommended by the Vatican with Saudi Arabia, Austria and Spain.
