A warm welcome was reserved on Friday, July 16, 2021, by His Beatitude Theodoros II, the Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa at the See of the Ancient Patriarchate for the Deputy Governor of the Great City of Alexandria, Dr. Jakleen Azer.

Conveying his heartfelt greetings to the Governor of the city, General Mohamed El Sherif, the Alexandrian Primate stressed to Dr. Jakleen Azer on the occasion of her visit to the Patriarchate of Alexandria where she accompanied the Expatriate Young People of the “NOSTOS” Programme of Greece, Cyprus and Egypt.

"In your person I greet our Alexandria, our Governor. And I am happy because every day, every minute I see it becoming a beautiful city. She is the queen of the Mediterranean, but now, our President lives in Cairo but I know that the heart of President Al Sisi is in Alexandria. And he wants to see her be the Lighthouse, as she always was.

I welcome the Deputy Governor and wish joy and health to our Governor and to those who dream of a humane, peaceful, friendly and beautiful Alexandria.

For her part, the Deputy Governor of Alexandria expressed her joy at being at the Patriarchate of Alexandria, stating:

"It is my pleasure to be here today, at the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate of Alexandria. We are here with the group of Greeks, Cypriots and Egyptians of "NOSTOS" which is an initiative of President Abdel Fattah Al Sisi to strengthen the Egyptian identity to young people of different nationalities around the world.
