On the 8th August 2020, His Beatitude Theodoros II Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, sent a congratulatory letter for the agreement between Greece – Egypt, to the Prime Minister of Greece Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis and to the Ministers of Foreing Affairs of Greece and of Egypt, which mentions the following:
It is with great joy that we welcome the Agreement of historic significance between Greece and our beloved Egypt. This Agreement makes a clear statement that the Mediterranean Sea belongs to those who strive for and promote peace.
We earnestly pray for your health and for the peace and ongoing stability of both Egypt and Greece.
