His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa was warmly welcomed at the Dependency of All Saints of the Alexandrian Church in Moscow, a stone’s throw from the Kremlin, by the representatives of the Hellenic Club of Moscow, with the sound of bells ringing and hymns by the choirs, showing the Byzantine grandeur, even by Russians who speak no Greek but who have embraced Hellenic culture.
In the presence of His Eminence paul of Riazan and Kazimova of the Russian Church, the Greek Ambassador His Excellency Mr Elias Klis, the Egyptian Ambassador His Excellency Mr Ezat Saad el Said, President Putin’s attach’e Mr Antoni Yurovic, the Consul of the Republic of Cyprus in Moscow Mr Nicholas Manolis, Mr. Spyros Kamalakis of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and many people, His Beatitude thanked all who had contributed to the multifaceted pastoral, missionary and humanistic work of the Alexandrian Church, emphasizing the excellent brotherly relations which develop daily all the more with the Church of Russia.
