On 12th May 2019, Sunday of the Myrrh-bearers, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated during Orthros and the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.

Immediately after the Divine Eucharist His Beatitude welcomed at the Hall of the Patriarchal Monastery representative Clergy, Lecturers and Students of the Orthodox Church in Russia, led by Archbishop Ambrose of Beregia, Rector of the Theological Academy of Moscow. Note that following an invitation from the Patriarch of the Coptic Twadros II, as part of the Council for Dialogue between the two Churches, Russia and Egypt, a visit was organized to the ancient holy pilgrimages in Cairo and Alexandria.

The Alexandrian Primate and the representatives of the Theological Academy, went to the Patriarchal Mansion, where in a cordial and friendly atmosphere they discussed the important missionary work done on the African Continent, as well as the educational issues of common interest, and the future cooperation between the Alexandrian Throne and the Theological Academy of Moscow.

In conclusion, the visitors had the opportunity for a conducted tour of the Archaeological Museum, the Patriarchal Library and the Patriarchal Reliquary.
