     On 3rd September 2009, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa received at the Patriarchal See His Eminence Metropolitan Militon of Philadelphia, A Hierarch of the Ecumenical Patriarchate, who is on a pilgrimage in Egypt.

     Addressing His Eminence who was accompanied by the Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Honourable George Diakofotakis, His Beatitude spoke of how long they had known each other as well as their common thought during the years of His Beatitude’s missionary service in the Cameroun. In closing he expressed his love, honour and support of His All Holiness the Ecumenicla Patriarch Vartholomaios,  and the First Throne Church of Constantinople. He then awarded His Eminence the Cross with a Star of St Mark and then commemorative gifts were exchanged.

     In his reply, His Eminence Meliton thanked His Beatitude for the honour given to him, spoke with emotion of their lengthy friendship, and praise his multifaceted missionary efforts on the African continent.

     His Beatitude then took His Eminence on a conducted tour of the Patriarchal Mansion and hosted a lunch in his honour.

     On the same day, His Beatitude received also in the Patriarchal See the Society of Teachers of the Pratsikios Primary School of Alexandria, who all received the Patriarchal blessing for the beginning of the new academic year 2009-2010.
