Message from His Beatitude THEODOROS Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa on the Feast of Ramadan

The Venerable Primate of the Orthodox Church on the African Continent, His Beatitude Pope and Patriarch Theodoros II, sent the following message:

“On the occasion of the Feast of Ramadan I wish to express my heartfelt congratulations to the beloved Muslims of the blessed land of Egypt and those throughout the world. I especially address my most fervent wishes, honour and love to His Excellency the President of the Arab Republic of Egypt Mr. Muhammad Hosni Mubarak and his dear wife Mrs. Suzanne Mubarak, the Grand Sheik of Al-Azhar Dr. Ahmed al Tayeb and the Honourable Governor of Alexandria Mr Adel Abib.

I hope and pray that this year’s feast will give to all the citizens of the Land of the Nile, irrespective of religious identity, the opportunity to address prayers to the most supreme source of love and wisdom, the One and Only God, for Egypt to continue historically to be a steady point of reference both for local and international peace and stability as well as a living example of creative togetherness and collaboration of Christians and Muslims whose common aim is the development and prosperity of the country. Many Years!”

THEODOROS II
