His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, expresses his support and prays fervently for the suffering people of Mozambique, Malawi and Zimbabwe, who have been hit by the tropical hurricane devastating floods, leaving 150 souls lost, hundreds wounded and thousands missing.

The Alexandrian Primate, with nostalgic memories from the past, remembering Beira in Mozambique and the thriving Greek community, left there a bit of his life as Metropolitan of Zimbabwe and a missionary, establishing with much effort a boarding school and a shelter of love for the street children.

Immediately upon learning of the tragic events, the Patriarch was in continual communication with the Metropolitans there, as well as with the local Greek Diplomatic and Community Authorities of the countries affected, to encourage them and to strengthen them materially and morally, as a spiritual Father and Primate of the whole of Africa.
