"The heart of Hellenism is the Hellenes Abroad." With these words, Patriarch Theodoros of Alexandria received General Secretary of Hellenes Abroad and Public Diplomacy Ioannis Chrysoulakis at the See of the missionary Patriarchate.

Their meeting lasted more than an hour, focusing mainly on how the cooperation between Athens and Alexandria can be strengthened in the growing spread of the Greek language even to the farthest corner of the African continent.

"I have the opportunity to travel the length and breadth of the African continent and apart from my African children, I meet the Greeks and Cypriots to whom I always give this reminder: Do not forget our faith in our churches, do not forget the Greek language with our schools", stressed the Alexandrian Primate.

For his part, the Secretary General of Hellenes Abroad & Public Diplomacy Mr. Chrysoulakis also highlighted the enormous importance of the work of the Primate of the Ancient Second-Throne Patriarchate and the Greek Orthodox Church of Africa.

"We recognize the enormous journey you have made, of an enlightened Hierarch and a missionary, who with great love, care, affection has opened all the roads in Africa, a continent that was unknown to all Hellenism and beyond", Mr. Chrysoulakis said characteristically, addressing Patriarch Theodoros.

"You are the beacon that has really held all these Greeks together. This Hellenism is being reborn, the Hellenism of Africa is being reborn thanks to you and we as the General Secretariat of Hellenes Abroad & Public Diplomacy will follow in your footsteps. Apart from my personal love, my respect and infinite appreciation, you also have the respect and love of all Greeks and it is truly a blessing from God that we have you here. Apart from my personal love, my respect and infinite appreciation, you also have the respect and love of all Greeks and it is truly a wish of God that we have you here. "Because you are also the link with the friendly people of Egypt, with whom we have been connected for many years," he said.
