On Wednesday, October 13, 2021, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, paid a visit to the Holy Monastery of Saint Catherine of the Holy Metropolis of Kampala, in the construction of which a Romanian shipowner contributed greatly. During his time at the Monastery of Saint Catherine in the Kyndi area, he performed in an atmosphere of emotion the tonsure of the Nun Thavoria, whom he appointed as head of the Monastery and prayed that the grace of the Holy Spirit would support and guide her.

On the 14th of the same month, the Alexandrian Primate performed the service of the Inauguration of the Katholikos of the Holy Monastery of Saint Paraskevi in Busana, Uganda and then went on to perform the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, concelebrating with His Eminence Elder Metropolitan Makarios of Nairobi, as well as with His Grace Bishop Neophytos of Nieri and Mount Kenya and His Grace Bishop Sylvester of Gulu and Eastern Uganda.

Present at the Eucharistic gathering were the Very Reverend Archimandrite Chrysostomos Koulourgiotis, Abbot of the Holy Monastery Maziou in Megara, Attica, the clergy of the Metropolis and many believers.

In a fully theological speech His Beatitude spoke to the congregation about this historic day of the Inauguration of the Holy Monastery of Saint Paraskevi, as well as about the importance of what is done there.

Prior to the dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude consecrated as Archimandrite the head of the Holy Monastery Fr. Prodromos Lubeka and immediately thereafter enthroned him as the first Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint Paraskevi.

In his address to the New Abbot of the Monastery, the Patriarch asked him emotionally to teach the youth about monasticism, the science of sciences and the art of arts.

Father Prodromos, speak to the youth about monasticism. Tell them that it is the science of sciences and the art of arts. With the prayer, the mental prayer "Lord Jesus Christ have mercy on me" and the prayer rope you will always be close to your spiritual Father, your Patriarch ".

In conclusion His Beatitude, addressing the Abbot of the Holy Monastery of Saint Paraskevi Maziou, Archimandrite Chrysostomos, expressed the thanks and gratitude of the Ancient and Apostolic Throne of the Evangelist Mark, for the complete donation given by the monastery of Fr Chrysostomos for the building of the Monastery in the depths of Africa.
