On 13th August 2010 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited the Old Aged Home of the Hellenic Community of Alexandria, to be with the veterans of life in view of the great Feast of the Dormition of the Theotokos.
During the visit His Beatitude, acting as a simple priest, conducted the Paraklesis to the Most Holy Theotokos and an artoklasia in the Home, and then spoke at length with the aged people and had a private meeting with 95 year old priest Fr Meletios Gannios, who is the oldest priest in the service of the Patriarchal Throne (65 years).
