     On Palm Sunday, 17th April 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa conducted the Divine Liturgy and preached the homily at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria.

     Following the Eucharist Gathering a reception was hosted in the Throne Room of the Holy Monastery, during which His Beatitude presented to the large gathering the Very Reverend Archimandrite Ioakeim Vasilakos, a Priest from the Holy Metropolis of Tripolis (Libya), as well as the Very Reverend Archimandrite Niphon Poulopoulos, holder of a post-graduate degree specialising in the History of the Slavic Churches, who was recently seconded to the ancient Patriarchate from the Holy Metropolis of Arkalohorion, Kastellion and Viannou.
