On Palm Sunday, 28th April 2013, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated at Matins and conducted the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal and Cathedral Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, concelebrating with His Eminence Gabriel, Metropolitan of Leontopolis, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria.

 

Prior to the dismissal of the Patriarchal Divine Liturgy, His Beatitude gave to the Sacristy of the Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas, as a personal dedication of gratitude and enduring blessing of the faithful, an elaborate Blessing Cross, of particular wood carved art, which contains a piece of the Holy Wood, which he had from the late Patriarch Benedict of Jerusalem.

 

Many faithful were present at the Eucharistic gathering, among whom were the Most Learned Professor and Academic Mr. Christos Zerefos, of Egypt, who His Beatitude Address accordingly, praising his scientific contribution to the protection of the Environment,

In the evening of the same day, His Beatitude officiated at the Bridegroom Service at the Holy Church of the Archangels in Ibrahimia, and on the following day, Great and Holy Monday 29th April 2013, he conducted the Divine Liturgy of the Pre-Sanctified Gifts at the Patriarchal and Cathedral Church of St Savvas in Alexandria
