On 14th September 2013, the day on which our Holy Church commemorates the Elevation of the precious and life-giving Cross, His Eminence Gabriel, Metropolitan of Leontopolis, Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, by Venerable Order of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, in the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, conducted the ordination to the Priesthood of Fr Zacharias Enoch, from Tanzania, a graduate of the Patriarchal Academy of Alexandria, as well as the ordination to the Diaconate of Fr Raphael Korovesis.

Before the Dismissal of the Divine Liturgy, His Eminence Gabriel of Leontopolis conducted the Elevation of the precious Cross and preached the homily, speaking of the meaning of the Cross in the life of Christians as well as the cruciform life and witness which the new Clergy of the Patriarchate are now called on to follow, emphasizing to them that the Priesthood is not only an office, but is essentially a minitry in the Church and the World, and ended by passing on the Patriarchal prayers of His Beatitude to the two newly-ordained members of the Clergy.
