     On 4th December 2011, His Grace Gabriel, Bishop of Mareotis Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, by Venerable Order of His beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa in the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria, ordained to the Priesthood Deacon Sergios Lambere Mamelemo Souagbo, from the Holy Diocese of Congo-Brazzaville and Gabon.

     During his address His Grace spoke of the value and the responsibility of the Priesthood and called on the new Priest, in total obedience to the Venerable Primate of the Church of Alexandria, to give his every effort to the glory of God, the ancient Patriarchate of Alexandria and the evangelization of our African brothers and sisters.

     Present at the Liturgical Synaxis were His Excellency Bhalat Seraphim, Councillor of the President of the Republic of Congo-Brazzaville and Financial Director of the country’s Railways.

     His Beatitude immediately welcomed to his Patriarchal Office the newly ordained Priest, accompanied by his compatriot, Protopresbyter Maximos Oumba, who was ordained ten years ago in Yaounde in Cameroon by His beatitude as Bishop of Cyrene, as well as His Excellency Mr. Bhalat Seraphim, to whom His Beatitude awarded the honour distinction of the Lion of St Mark for his essential contribution to the progress of the work of the Orthodox Church in Congo-Brazzaville.
