     On 26th February 2012 His Grace Gabriel Bishop of Mareotis, by order of His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, conducted at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified in Alexandria the ordination to the Diaconate of Apostolos Trifyllis, Director of the Patriarchal Library of Alexandria.

     Deacon Apostolos Trifyllis was born in Athens in 1976. He is the holder of a degree from the Department of History and Archaeology of the Philosophical Faculty of the University of Athens and the School of Tour Guides in Athens. He holds a Post Graduate degree of specialization from the Universities of Belgrade and Lyon in Politics and Civilization Administration, concentrating his research on the cultural memory of Alexandria. He was appointed to Middle Education in 2001 and since then has served as a literature teacher in Crete, Alexandria and Beldgrade.

     On 30th September 2009, he was appointed by His Beatitude as Director of the Patriarchal Library of Alexandria. He also teaches Greek language at the Department of Greco-Roman studies of the Faculty of Arts at the University in Alexandria. He is continuing his studies at the Theological Faculty of the University of Athens and at the Hellenistic Studies Centre of the Alexandrian Library, specializing in the History of the Hellenistic Years.
