On Saturday 9th March 2013, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, conducted the Opening of the renovated “HELIOPOLIS ORTHODOX CLUB”, belonging to the Arabic speaking Orthodox Community of Cairo in Heliopolis, in the presence also of His Eminence Nicholas, Metropolitan of Ermopolis, Patriarchal Vicar of the Arabic Speakers, His Grace Nikodimos Bishop of Nitria, Patriarchal Vicar of Cairo and His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece Mr. Christodoulos Lazaris.
Following the Service of the Blessing, a festive reception took place, during which His Beatitude praised the tireless activities of the Arabic Speaking Community in the renovations of the Club and awarded the Chairman of the Community Mr. George Seraphim the Order of St Savvas the Sanctified; he then addressed the Patriarch appropriately.
