The Minister of Diaspora of Egypt, Nabila Makram, described the Patriarch of Alexandria, Theodoros, as a "great patriot", for his initiative to support the programme of Egyptian President Al Sisi "A Dignified Life" for the upgrading of the poorest regions.

Welcoming the Primate of the Orthodox Church of Africa, Ms. Makram stressed that the Patriarch was the first official she met in 2018, receiving his own personal support, in the great program for Egyptians "NOSTOS – Return to the Roots", between Egypt, Greece, Cyprus, thanking him for his contribution to this issue.

For his part, Patriarch Theodoros stressed how important it is for him to contribute with all his might and with the support of the Greek Orthodox Patriarchate, to the excellent initiative of Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi "A Decent Life", a program for a better and more dignified life, for the development of the most degraded villages in the Egyptian countryside, especially in those areas of the country where society and the poorest people need it.

Patriarch Theodoros stressed that in this effort he will have the practical support of Greece and Cyprus.

"Egypt is my second home and I look forward to providing health support to our children in the countryside and in areas most in need," said the Alexandrian Primate, adding that he looks forward to working with the Egyptian authorities on this great national project, expressing its desire to extend a helping hand to the people of villages and areas in need in Egypt, especially in the field of health, through the establishment of medical centers, health units, and hospitals for the treatment of cancer and heart disease, and this especially for children, the new generation.

For her part, the Minister of the Diaspora Ms. Nabila Makram warmly thanked Patriarch Theodoros for this initiative and support of the program of Egyptian President Al Sisi to strengthen the Egyptian countryside, describing the Primate of the Alexandrian Church as a "Great Patriot". a man who puts himself at the service of humanity.
