Outside the Metropolis of Tamassos Metropolitan Isaiah, together with the clergy, the people and the school children of the town, welcomed the Alexandrian Patriarch. A military troop gave the honours and then all paraded to the Holy Church of St George for the doxology.

Following the doxology, Metropolitan Isaiah addressed His Beatitude, saying: “ Our joy is great, because the people of Tamasos has welcomed the successor of the Holy Apostle Mark ans his entourage to the holy land of Tamassos”.

He emphasized that the bonds between the Metropolis of Tamassos and the Patriarchate of Alexandria are strong; “the preserved monuments reveal the witness between the relations of Cyprus and Metropolitan Greece, and the efforts of these people have risen through the ages, fed by Hellenic and Christian culture and bear fruit to this day”.

In his reply, His Beatitude expressed his joy on this visit and thanked His Eminence, the officials and the people of Tamassos for their heartfelt welcome.
