     On the afternoon of 15th October 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Grace Meletios Bishop of Katanga and the Very Reverend Archimandrite Narkissos Gammo, Prioncipal of the “Agios Athanasios” Patriarchal Academy, returned by air to the city of Lubumbashi of the People’s Republic of the Congo where he attended a festive function hosted by the Hellenic Community in his honour.

     During the relative greetings the significance of the preservation of Hellenic conscience was emphasized, as well as those ethics of our forefathers and the conveyance of the universal values of Hellenism to all who wish to receive them. The youth then presented Greek folk dances and songs. 

    Present at the function were the Honourable Mr. Cristian Mwan, Minister of Finance of Katanga, Naton Kasongo, representativeof the Katanga local Government, George Psaromatis, Chairman of the Hellenic Community, Gerasimos Dounis, Honourary Consul of Greece in Lubumbashi, Philippe Heurts, Deputy Consul of Belgium, Malta Forest, Honourary Consul of France, Jacques Somville, Honourary Consul of Austria. A special honour was the attendance of His Excellency Munongo, King of the Bayete.
