     On 13th October 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited the educational institutions of the Holy Diocese of Katanga, blessed the many students and held discussions with the teaching stuff praising their productive educational work and giving their paternal advice for the better formation of the souls of the children in Christ through the process of education. He also expressed his appreciation to His Grace Meletios, Bishop of Katanga for his educational and general missionary efforts ongoing in the local Church.

     His Beatitude then went on to visit the Honourable Governor of the Katanga Region, Mrs. Cime Jinga Charlotte, thanking her for the support she gives to the work of the Orthodox Church in the region, and Mrs. Cime Jinga Charlotte expressed the gratitude of the citizens for the multilevel contribution of the ancient Patriarchate to the area.

     His Beatitude then went to the building site of the Holy Monastery of the Holy Apostles, where he conducted the sanctification service, praying for a speedy completion of the works for the spiritual benefit of the faithful. He also blessed the adjacent farm which belongs to the Diocese, which operates as a model of production which helps the broader area.

     Returning to the missionary centre in the city of Kolwezi he conducted the trisagion service at the tomb of the late Fr. Kosmas Grigoriatis and then had lunch with the clergy of the Holy Diocese and their wives, offering advice and praising their sacrificial and productive service.
