On 23rd January 2012 His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited His Excellency the Ambassador of the Cypriot Republic in Russia, Mr. Petros Kestoras.
During his visit to the Embassy of Cyprus His Beatitude was informed of the excellent relations between the two countries, as he briefly presented the multifaceted missionary, spiritual and humanistic efforts undertaken by the ancient Patriarchate in Africa. He also mentioned the beneficial understanding of the Cypriot Church and State of these efforts.
Present at the meeting were His Eminence Athanasios Metropolitan of Cyrene, Exarch of the Alexandrian Church in Moscow, His Grace Tychon, Bishop of Pontolsk, Director of Financial Services of the Moscow Patriarchate, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Panteleimon Arathymos, Chancellor of the Holy Synod of the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Very Reverend Archimandrite Leonid Gorbacev, Exarch of the Church of Russia in Egypt.
