On Wednesday, 22nd June 2022, in the context of his official visit to Cyprus, His Beatitude Theodoros II Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, had a cordial meeting with the Director of the "Anastasios G. Leventis"Foundation, the Honourable Mr. Charalambos Bakirtzis, who informed him about the recent decision of the Board of the Foundation, according to which the aforementioned Foundation will undertake the preservation of another series of manuscripts of the Patriarchal Library, thus continuing its excellent collaboration with the Patriarchate of Alexandria and the Library of Alexandria, which began years ago with the aim of preserving and highlighting these historical treasures that adorn the Library of the Ancient Patriarchate.

Also present at the meeting was the Erudite Mr. Nikolaos Bakirtzis who informed His Beatitude about the beginning of the Cooperation of TEPAK ( The Cyprus University of Technology) with the Patriarchate of Alexandria in order to preserve the ancient manuscripts of the Patriarchal Library.

Afterwards, the Patriarch crossed the threshold of the Holy Archdiocese of Cyprus, accompanied by His Eminence Athanasios Metropolitan of Kyrenia and His Grace Nicodemus Bishop of Nitria and Patriarchal Vicar in Cyprus, where they received a warm welcome from His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Nea Justiniana and All Cyprus.

The two Primates discussed the prevailing ecclesiastical situation on the African continent, the difficulties, future projects, the difficulties of the missionary work of evangelism and other current ecclesiastical issues. His Beatitude emphasized to the Alexandrian Primate his support for the missionary work of the Patriarchate of Alexandria as well as the work of the Exarchate of the Throne in Cyprus. For his part, the Patriarch expressed his gratitude to the Church of Cyprus and its Venerable Primate for his support and contribution of utmost importance to the effort to evangelize the African people.

Lastly, His Beatitude visited Frederic University, where he had a meeting with the Director of Administration and Finance, Dr. Christoforos Charalambous. Mr. Charalambous informed the Patriarch in detail about the educational programs as well as the possibility of cooperation between the Alexandrian Church and the above-mentioned Higher Education Institution of Cyprus.
