      On the morning of Friday 17th September 2010, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited His Eminence Nikiforos Metropolitan of Kykkos and Tillyria at the Dependency of the Holy Monastery of Kykkos in Nicosia, with whom he had private discussions regarding issues to do with the patriarchate and its missionary efforts.

      His Beatitude then welcomed His Excellency the Ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt and informed him about the meeting he had with the Patriarchs of Antioch and Jerusalem and the Archbishop of Cyprus regarding the Middle East Council of Churches as well as about issues of the ancient Patriarchate. He then asked the Ambassador to pass on to His Excellency the President of Egypt Mr. Hosni Mubarak his gratitude for the continuous assistance of the Egyptian state towards the Alexandrian Church.

      Afterwards, His Beatitude visited His Excellency the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Mr. Neoklis Sylikiotis, as well as the Minister of Transport and Works Mrs. Erato Kozakou Markoulli, with whom he discussed the humanistic and missionary service of the Patriarchate in Africa as well as the renovation works which are taking place in patriarchal buildings in the Land of the Nile, emphasizing the Patriarchal Library and the Museum which will hosted ecclesiastical relics and other historical exhibits.

      Early in the evening His Beatitude arrived at the Archdiocesan Mansion and held a private meeting with His Beatitude Chrysostomos II, Archbishop of Cyprus. The two Primates then  visited the land which the Cypriot Government will donate to the Patriarchate of Alexandria for the erection of the building of the Patriarchal Exarchy in Cyprus.

     Immediately after this His Beatitude departed from Cyprus for Cairo, having completed his three-day stay on the Island.
