     At midnight on 24 February 2010 His Beatitude  Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, arrived in Khartoum from Ethiopia together with His Grace Niphon Bishop of Babylonos.

     Waiting at the airport for His Beatitude were His Eminence Emmanuel Metropolitan of Khartoum, His Excellency the Ambassador of Egypt Mr. Abdel-Wahab, the Honourable Chairman of the Hellenic Community Mr. Xenophon Karapanayiotis, representatives of Hellenic organizations, schools, etc.

     On the next day, 25 February 2010, His Beatitude visited the Greek Embassy. His Excellency the Ambassador, Mr. Christos Karapanos and the Ambassadorial Staff welcomed the Alexandrian Primate most warmly and he then went on to bless the Vasilopitta according to tradition. Addresses and commemorative gifts were then exchanged.

     His Beatitude then went to the completely renovated Episcopate of the Holy Metropolis of Khartoum, praising His Eminence Emmanuel and his colleagues for their general untiring efforts. He also visited and prayed at the of the Annunciation of the Theotokos and at noon, attended an official lunch hosted in his honour by His Excellency the Ambassador of Greece, Mr. Karapanos.
