     On 24th July 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Eminence Ilarion, Metropolitan of Volokalamsk arrived at the summer residence of His Beatitude Kyril, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, on the Black Sea, where he will remain for a few days’ rest.

     During the working meeting between the two Primates reaffirmed the unbreakable bonds of communication and understanding which unite the two Churches and had lengthy discussions on issues of common interest, most important of which was the political and social conditions prevalent in the Middle East and the impact it has on the life of Christians in the region; special mention was also made of issues regarding the missionary efforts of the Alexandrian Throne on the African Continent. The meeting was preceded by memorial prayers for the victims of the recent destructive floods on the shores of the Black Sea.
