On 18th July 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa visited His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Greece who is responsible for issues on Greeks abroad, Mr. Dimitrios Dollis, at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. His Beatitude told the Deputy Minister about the progress of the work of the Patriarchate in Africa and they discussed current issues regarding Greeks abroad.
Mr Dollis assured His Beatitude that the Greek Government would always be of assistance in the work of the Patriarchate for the benefit of Orthodoxy and the Greek Nation in general. Also present at the meeting was the new Consul General of Greece in Alexandria, Honourable Mr. Kapodistrias, who will take up his duties in September.
