     On 30th may 2008, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Eminence Sergios of the Good Hope, Archimandrite Chrysostomos Efstratiou and Archimandrite Markos Theodosi, traveled by car from East London to Port Elizabeth .

     On the way, His Beatitude visited Grahamstown, where Rhodes University is situated, and His Beatitude had the opportunity to meet with Greek lecturers students there and to attend a lunch hosted in his honour by the university community.

     In Port Elizabeth His Beatitude was warmly welcomed by the Parish Priest Protopresbyter George Vakonakis, as well as the Chairman of the Hellenic Community in Port Elizabeth Mr. Achilleas Haralambous.

     That night a dinner was hosted in honour of His Beatitude at the home of the Chairman of the Hellenic Community, which was also attended by the Honourable Consul General to Cape Town Mr Spuros Xanthopoulos and other community officials.
