On the morning of Monday 31st October 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa and His Beatitude Daniel Patriarch of Romania left the city of Alba Iulia in Romania for Bucharest.
On their way to the military airport in the area, the Venerable Primates together with their entourages visited the Holy Monastery of the Theotokos, where the many nuns have an orphanage. Following brief prayers in the Chapel of the Monastery, His Beatitude the Patriarch blessed the area where the orphaned children live as well as the clinic and the monastic residence.
They then went on to the airport, where they boarded a military aircraft which transported them to the Romanian capital.
