His Beatitude Theodoros II Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated at the service of Great Vespers on the evening of Friday 9th November 2012, together with His Grace Nikodimos, Bishop of Nitria and Patriarchal Vicar in Cairo, in the Holy Chpel of ST Nektarios in the grounds of the Patriarchal Vacriate of Cairo, where St Nektarios of Pentapolis lived and served the Alexandrian Church as Patriarchal Vicar in the Egyptian capital at the end of the 19th century.
During his brief address His Beatitude spoke of the life of the Saint of the 20th century, particularly of his spiritual activities undertaken in Cairo and called on the faithful to follow his example.
