On Palm Sunday 8th April 2012, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, after the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas the sanctified in Alexandria, blessed the Paschal festive market of the Lyceum of Greek Women of the Great City – which is hosted at the Holy Monastery – praying that their work will be successful.

He paid particular praise to Mrs Anastasia Papageorgiou, addressing her with words of praise and gratitude for her ceaseless and fervent service, which she has given to the Holy Patriarchal Monastery of St Savvas during the past seven decades.

Mrs Anastasia Papageorgiou, was born in Alexandria in 1930, and is distinguished by the modesty of her life, her ecclesiastical ethos and her ceaseless daily participation in the worship life of the Holy Monastery of St Savvas in Alexandria. For this reason, in 2009, His Beatitude awarded her the distinction of the Cross of St Mark.

Also, during the festive market His Beatitude had the joy of paternal contact with little Greek childen from Alexandria.
