On the Sunday of Thomas, 1st May 2022, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated according to custom, at the Divine Liturgy at the Church of the Dormition of the Theotokos of the Arabic Orthodox Community of Alexandria, concelebrating with His Eminence Narcissus Metropolitan of Pelusium, and His Grace Nicodemus, Bishop of Nilopolis.

Preaching his homily, His Beatitude the Patriarch expressed his great joy because he is among the devoted and active Arabic-speaking flock of the Alexandrian church, bestowing his Patriarchal pleasure. In conclusion, he performed the Sanctification of the Water for the beginning of the new month.

It is noted that the above Church belongs to the Arabic Orthodox Community of Alexandria, whose reconstruction began in 1881 and was inaugurated in 1888 by Patriarch Sophronios of Alexandria. The aforementioned Community, which remains alive and active to this day, assisted in its construction.
