     On the afternoon of Monday, 11th May 2009, is Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa arrived in Harare, together with His Eminence George Metropolitan of Zimbabawe and the Very Reverend Archimandrite Ioannis Tsaftarides, for a two-day visit. His Beatitude was welcomed at the airport by the Ambassadors of Greece and Egypt, the Honourable Consul General of Cyprus, the Chairmen of Hellenic Communities, Societies, Associations and brotherhoods, the Hierarchal Vicar Fr George Saganis, the Lady of the Churches Mrs Ariadne psillos and the entire staff of the Greek Embassy.

     His Beatitude greeted all present with great joy and enthusiasm as he was meeting people that he knows and loves from the time that he was Metropolitan of Zimbabwe.

     That night His Beatitude attended a dinner hosted in his honour by His Grace George, Metropolitan of Zimbabwe, at the hall of the Missionary Centre of St Athanasios.

     During his brief stay in Zimbabwe His Beatitude will lay the foundation stone of the Holy Church of Panagia Chrysomyrousa which will be built in the grounds of the Hellenic Academy; he will inaugurate the Technical School “The Misssionary Hieromonk Kosmas Grigoriatis”; he will hand over a substantial amount of humanistic aid to the suffering Africans and will meet with members of the Hellenic community.
