FEAST OF THE HOLY MONASTERY OF ST SAVVAS THE SANCTIFIED IN ALEXANDRIA

     On 4^th December 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa officiated at the Great Vespers and preached the homily at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified, Patron Saint and Custodian of Alexandria.

     On 5^th December 2011, His Beatitude conducted the Divine Liturgy in the same Church. The homily was preached by the Hegumen of the Monastery, the Very Reverend Archimandrite Meletios Koumanis. A celebratory gathering followed in the Throne Room of the Patriarchal Monastery.

     Present at the Liturgy were the Honourable Consul general of Greece Mr. Christos Kapodistrias, representatives of Hellenic Societies and Associations, teachers and pupils from the Hellenic Schools and the entire Greek Community of the Great City.
