The Holy Clergy and a large number of Orthodox believers welcomed the Patriarch of Alexandria with exclamations of spiritual joy. After the end of the Divine Liturgy, the enthronement of the new Metropolitan Theodosios of Kinshasa took place.

His Eminence Metropolitan Theodosios thanked the authorities of the country who attended the ceremony, the Holy Hierarchs, the clergy and the faithful. He made mention of his predecessors, in particular the Metropolitans Ignatios of Pentapolis and Nicephorus of Kinshasa, as well as to the missionaries Chrysostomos, Chariton and Athanasios. He thanked the Chairman of the Hellenic Community Mr. Gerasimos Dounis and the Executive Committee, the Missionary Societies that support the missionary work, as well as the Holy Monasteries and Brotherhoods.

He expressed particular gratitude to His Beatitude the missionary Patriarch of Love, who traveled to the Democratic Republic of the Congo to perform the Enthronement and to paternally bless his spiritual children.

The Alexandrian Primate emphasized to the new Metropolitan: “"This day is your day. Open your arms now to embrace the Congolese people. Give love, forgiveness, blessing. From Alexandria I will watch over you and will pray for you, as well as for all the Hierarchs ordained by these earthly hands, so that I may have a small reason for apologetic defense on Judgment Day. You will have beside you His Excellency the President of the Country, the Hellenic Community, all the faithful people of God who are dedicated to our ancient Patriarchate. Walk in Christ’s steps in peace and the blessing of St Mark protect you

Afterwards the Hellenic Community hosted a lunch in honour of His Beatitude and the enthronement event.
