On the occasion of the vindication of the Venerable Ecumenical Patriarchate by the Court of Human Rights regarding the property status quo of the Orphanage on Pringipos, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa sent His All Holiness Bartholmaios the Ecumenical Patriarch the following letter:

“Your All Holiness and Most reverend Archbishop Bartholomaios of Constantinople, New Rome and Ecumenical Patriarch, most beloved and dearest brother and concelebrant in the Lord, we embrace Your Most Holiness in the Lord and address You.

It is with great delight and satisfaction that we have received the joyous news regarding the relative decision by the European Court of Human Rights, for the return of the Orphanage of Pringipos to the Ecumenical Patriarchate by which Your efforts and concerns of many years have been justified.

Likewise, we wish to express our genuine congratulations to you for this success, and to praise Your spiritual and inspired initiative, for the general justification of all things vested in the Church of Constantinople, in order that it regains this important property of the “wooden Orphanage”. We wholeheartedly pray that Your vision be realised of the establishment and operation of a Patriarchal International Centre for Environmental Information and Education.

For this we pray that Your All Holiness will be strengthened and we embrace You, remaining Your beloved brother in the Lord.
