     On 1St November 2011, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, accompanied by His Eminence George Metropolitan of Accra, His Grace Bishop Kyprianos the Chancellor of the Holy Synod of the Romanian Patriarchate and the Very Reverend Archimandrite Panteleimon Arathymos, Chancellor of the Holy Synod of the Alexandrian Patriarchate, visited the area where the new Cathedral of Bucharest is being built.

     He then went on to the Holy Monastery of the Holy Trinity of Randuvoda in Bucharest, whose founder was Sovereign Radu Mihnea, a friend and fellow student of St Kyrillos Loukaris, during the years when they were studying in Padua, and whose inauguration was conducted by St Kyrillos. Following the Doxology prayers His Beatitude visited to nearby Theological Seminary where he held discussions with the Lecturers and the two hundred seminarians, answering their questions regarding the missionary efforts of the Alexandrian Church in Africa.

     He then visited the Holy Monastery of Pasărea, the workshop where vestments are prepared, icons painted and appurtenances made by the 160 nuns of the Convent and attended the lunch hosted in his honour.

     On that same evening, His Beatitude went to the Patriarchal Mansion and had dnner with His Beatitude Daniel Patriarch of Romania.

     Αt around midnight His Beatitude Theodoros, together with Patriarch Daniel, arrived at the international airport in Bucharest. In the presence of the massed media, the Venerable Primate of the Alexandrian Throne expressed his grateful thanks to Patriarch Daniel for the kind hospitality and the assurance of a continuation of the long fraternal bonds of love, respect and brotherhood between the two Churches. He also extended thanks to the State authorities and the faithful people of Romania for the honour shown him.

     On is on behalf Patriarch Daniel expressed his feelings of joy created by the visit of His Beatitude which he said was a blessing and honour for the Church of Romania.

     His Beatitude the Patriarch of Alexandria and His entourage departed from the Romanian capital for Cairo in Egypt.
