On 1st December 2017, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria arrived by air at the Vnukovo airport in snow-covered Moscow, answering the kind invitation of His Holiness Kirill, Patriarch of Moscow and All Russia, in order to concelebrate with other Primates and representatives of Orthodox Churches, the 100th anniversary of the re-establishment of the Patriarchate of Moscow.

His Beatitude was welcomed at the airport by His Eminence Athanasios Metropolitan of Cyrene, Exarch of the Patriarchate of Alexandria in Moscow, His Eminence Arsenios Metropolitan of Istra, 1st Vicar of Patriarch Kirill in Moscow, Bishop Leonid of Vladikavkaz and other clergy.

The Alexandrian Primate is accompanied by His Eminence Seraphim Metropolitan of Zimbabwe and His Eminence Meletios Metropolitan of Carthage.

In the next few days His Beatitude will have the opportunity of leading the festivities, and his meeting with Patriarch Kirill of Moscow and President Vladimir Putin of Russia regarding the issues of the Middle East and the politicoreligious happenings there.
