On 19th December 2007 His Grace Gabriel, Bishop od Mareotis and Patriarchal Vicar of Alexandria, represented His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, during a visit to His Excellency the Governor of Alexandria, Mr Adel Abib, at the Library in the City, to express his wishes on the occasion of the Great Sacrifice (Bairam).
