On 21st November 2007, His Beatitude Theodoros II, Pope and Patriarch of Alexandria and All Africa, officiated at the Dicine Liturgy at the Holy Patriarchal Church of St Savvas the Sanctified, which was attended by the Officers and Crew of the Greek Frigate “AIGAIO”, which is berthed in Alexandria for the NATO naval exercises.

 

Following the Liturgy His Beatitude received the Officers at the Patriarchal , and expressed to them his fervent gratitude for the moral and material assistance giving by the Navy to the multifacetedmissionary and spiritual work of the Patriarchate. He presented to them a copy of a rare photograph, portraying a Greek naval vessel, berthed in Alexandria, before the declaration of the Second World War.

 

Immediately thereafter His Beatitude received His Eminence Panteleimon, Metropolitan of Antinoe, who presented to the Patriarch his new writings.

 

On the same day a group of eminent scholars, under the leadership of the Consul general of Russia, also visited the Patriarchal Offices.
